From its inception in 1985, Taste has built a loyal client base centered in the art and fashion worlds. Today, it is a full service event management company that handles location scouting, lighting, decor, music, rentals and logistics. Our experienced staff will assist you in turning your vision into a perfect event, be it an intimate dinner or wedding to a fundraising gala or large-scale production. We also manage on-site cafés for events, corporations, and institutions, among them The International Center for Photography, The Winter Antiques Show and The Art Show.
The two principal owners, Jon Gilman and Anne Kitchens, collectively share almost sixty years of experience in food. Jon, originally from Seattle, is part of a third generation food family and graduated from the California Culinary Academy. He moved to New York to begin his career as a chef in 1982 and by 1985 he had launched Taste. Anne, a native New Yorker, has been working in the food business since 1972. She was part of the opening team of the catering division of Restaurant Associates, assisted Joe Baum in opening Windows on the World in 1976, and proceeded to establish one of the first artisanal wholesale bakeries in Manhattan. Jon and Anne have brought together a talented team that makes up the heart of TASTE.
